SERVICES
Prenatal care begins as early as eight to ten weeks of pregnancy. One hour of time is allotted and tailored to each client's needs. Ultrasounds and labs can be extra, but insurance often covers these costs.
The fee for total cost runs on a sliding scale of 3500 to 4200. Prenatal visits are preformed in my office in Lake Orion at 4405 S Baldwin St. Included in your care are four postpartum visits, but extra visits are included based on need.
During your visits you will have access to nutritional counseling, proper posturing and optimal fetal positioning exercises, preventative care measures with herbs and lifestyle suggestions, and so much more!
MEET THE MIDWIFE
Colleen Maheswaran CPM, LM, CLC
Colleen Maheswaran is a Certified Professional Midwife, Certified Lactation Counselor, Childbirth Educator, mother of two girls and wife to one incredibly supportive husband. She has assisted over 800 births and educated thousands of families in her twenty years of experience.
Her experience ranges from working as a midwife in a busy homebirth/birth center practice and as an early intervention specialist for a state funded program helping teen moms, to working in a busy hospital in Massachusetts making rounds on the postpartum floor, as a lactation counselor. During her years with Healthy Start, Colleen was skillfully trained on topics including post partum depression/anxiety, car seat safety, SIDS, developmental touchpoints, and many more. Colleen also holds a certification in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), BEST (Birth Emergency Skills Training) and infant/adult CPR.
In her free time, Colleen is actively involved in her Community by volunteering as a Girl Scouts leader, and loves talking long hikes when time allows.
Working with mothers and babies is more than a job for Colleen it is truly her Calling.
